The dialogue will focus on the bio-cultural difference in Italy, a central theme in Professor Pievani’s research, and a topic that Eataly Art House intends to enhance with the theme chosen for the first edition of the E.ART.H. PRIZE.
The E.ART.H. PRIZE saw the participation of artists under 35 who in their artistic practices deal with biodiversity in its various nuances.
Telmo Pievani, a philosopher of biology and expert in the theory of evolution, is the author of 322 national and international publications in the field of the philosophy of science. He is a member of important Italian scientific societies and academies, is on the Ethics Committee of the Umberto Veronesi Foundation and on the Editorial Board of international scientific journals such as Evolutionary Biology, Evolution: Education and Outreach, Rendiconti Lincei per le Scienze Fisiche e Naturali and Nature Italy. Since 2020 he has been scientific co-director of the series ‘Science and Ideas’ of Raffaello Cortina Editore. Since 2018 he has been a member of the Editorial Board of the Istituto dell’Enciclopedia Italiana Treccani. He is the director of the portal Pikaia, collaborates with the main Italian science festivals, has directed important international science exhibitions and has been on the International Scientific Council of the MUSE in Trento since 2014.
