“Sorry Mom x Orefici11” is the development of an installation realised by the artists Simona Andrioletti and Riccardo Rudi in Munich and rethought specifically as a performance for the Milanese Orefici11 store.

The performance ‘Sorry Mom’ takes shape from two workshops that, between December 2022 and March 2023, involved a group of girls and boys aged between 16 and 20.

Starting with a selection of texts, poems and pieces of music, the participants devised and defined the contents: phrases, verses of poems and quotations used for the customisation of the garments and for the creation of the posters, an integral part of the performance set design. The concept of ‘Mom’ here not only refers to the title of the project, but also to the idea of sustainability in its broad meaning of ‘Mother Nature’.

Thanks to the support of the artist, the girls and boys worked directly on the garments: sample pieces and second-hand clothes supplied by The North Face®, Timberland®, Napapijri® and Dickies® that could not be put back on the market and will be given new life during the performance. The project involves rappers Rilla and Güendalein, active in Munich, and Overgang – a Milanese collective made up of Over Lapa, Akuma and Gretä – and all the workshop participants who will wear the outfits they customised.

Sorry Mom x Orefici11 puts visual arts, fashion and music into dialogue by involving young people to work on the theme of sustainable reuse of textual content and unique garments, integral elements of the entire artistic intervention.

The project was born from the collaboration between Eataly Art House and Orefici11.

The performance will be held in Milan (via Orefici11), on 13 April 2023, from 10 pm to midnight.
