“Sorry Mom x Orefici11” is the development of an installation created by the artists Simona Andrioletti and Riccardo Rudi in Munich and specially rethought as a performance for the Milan store of Orefici11.
The performance “Sorry Mom” takes shape from two workshops that, between December 2022 and March 2023, involved a group of girls and boys aged 16 to 20.
Starting from a selection of texts, poems and musical pieces, the participants have conceived and defined the contents: phrases, verses of poetry and quotes used for the customization of garments and for the creation of posters, an integral part of the scenography of the performance. The concept of “Mom” here refers not only to the title of the project, but also to the idea of sustainability in its broad meaning of “Mother Nature”.
Thanks to the support of artists, girls and boys worked directly on items: samples and second hand clothes supplied by The North Face®, Timberland®, Napapijri® and Dickies® that could not have been re-released and will take on new life during the performance. The project involves rappers Rilla and Güendalein, active in Munich and the Overgang – a Milanese collective composed of Over Lapa, Akuma and Gretä – and all the participants of the workshop who will dress the outfits they have customized.
Sorry Mom x Orefici11 brings visual arts, fashion and music into dialogue involving young people to work on the theme of sustainable reuse textual content and unique garments, integral elements of all artistic intervention.
The project was born from the collaboration between Eataly Art House and Orefici11.
The performance was held in Milan (via Orefici11), on 13 April 2023, from 22.00 to midnight.
