Food, tradition and the social role of food are the protagonists of an exhibition and narrative composed of 125 images made by 29 photographers members of Magnum Photos, from the great masters of the second half of the twentieth century, as Eve Arnold, Werner Bischof, Elliott Erwitt, Inge Morath, Martin Parr, Ferdinando Scianna, David Seymour, Alex Webb, up to the contemporary research of Jonas Bendiksen, Cristina De Middel, Alex Majoli, Paolo Pellegrin, to name but a few.
Divided into five sections, which follow a chronological and thematic pattern, the exhibition considers food in its social connotation, economic and symbolic and underlines the inextricable link between human life and all those activities related to food that belong to a natural and cultural sphere.
In a context such as that of Grand Tour Italia, these reflections naturally assume an even more significant value, emphasizing the multiplicity of facets that make food a complex element rich in meanings, traditions and possibilities.
