Curated by Giangavino Pazzola, associate curator at CAMERA – Centro italiano per la fotografia di Torino, in collaboration with Giulia Adami, curatorial project manager of E.ART.H.
Fondazione EARTH presents the exhibition Peccioli: Racconti di una stagione, realized in collaboration with the municipality of Peccioli and the Fondazione Peccioliper, dedicated to the visual projects of four young photographers selected as part of the Futures Photography program.
From the summer of 2023, Karim El Maktafi, Camilla Ferrari, Sara Scanderebech and Riccardo Svelto were protagonists of four artist residences organized in the village of Peccioli for a period of observation and study of the territory and the local community. The works produced tell about the territory of Peccioli and its peculiarities, with a focus on people, the ecosystem and the meeting of artistic forms with natural ones typical of its extraordinary landscape.
Giangavino Pazzola, associate curator at CAMERA and of the entire Peccioli program: the look of FUTURES, in collaboration with Giulia Adami, curatorial project manager of EARTH Foundation, worked together with the four photographers, By selecting a corpus of images that reflected the vision and personal experience of research conceived by each of them.
Four different sensitivities that correspond to as many different interpretations of the real, able to offer a first-level overview on the most current research and solutions of contemporary photography. The result is a photographic exhibition spread in various places, thought as a path of territorial valorization along the village and beyond its walls: the exhibition route develops between institutional spaces, such as the Palazzo Senza Tempo, and outdoor places among Peccioli, Legoli e Belvedere in an itinerary that embraces the territory showing to the public the variety of poetics and practices of photography and contemporary image in Italy.
The exhibition is accompanied by a rich public program and the publication of a volume published by Edizioni EARTH to complete the project.
