Anastasiya Parvanova. Fili, ife e grifi

Fino al 28 January 2024

The title of the exhibition, curated by Treti Galaxie, is a tribute to the Sonetto di grifi e ife e fili by the poet Andrea Zanzotto, taken from his collection Il galateo in bosco, published in 1978.
In this work, the author questions the possibility of adapting classicism to contemporaneity, through a complex construction of references that proposes a parallel between the recovery of archaic language and the investigation of Nature.
Anastasiya Parvanova interprets the verse of Zanzotto as a lens to read the relationships between his works: the threads are those of cotton and linen woven that, fabrics and frames, serve as a basis for his painting, while the hyphae, like in the mycelium of mushrooms, create relationships between works and the environment in which they are located. While the griffins refer to images of recurring mythological figures, from Ancient Egypt to heraldry, just as recurrent are, work by work, the artist’s subjects.

The exhibition can be visited free of charge until 28 January 2024 in the spaces of the Project Room, first floor.
